The Chainsmokers post Behind the Scenes Video to Facebook

A person would be hard-pressed to find another artist or group more in touch with their fans than The Chainsmokers. During the age of social media it is easier than ever to communicate with fans. With the release of “Somebody,” The Chainsmokers released a behind the scenes video on Facebook, showcasing their music making progress and promising more videos of this type in the future.

Who Are The Chainsmokers?

The Chainsmokers are made up of Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall. They became worldwide sensations when they released “#Selfie,” their first mainstream smash hit. Following their debut, dozens of other hit songs have come from the catalog of the duo. “Paris,” “Closer,” and “Don’t Let Me Down” are all hits produced by The Chainsmokers.

The duo takes an unorthodox approach to making music. Both Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart are producers. They have both worked as DJs and now make original music. Prior to the release of “Closer,” neither Alex Pall or Andrew Taggart had any experience singing professional. Instead, they relied on other artists to bring vocalization to their records. “Closer” marked a milestone for the group as they moved Andrew Taggart behind a microphone, making him the lead singer of the band.

Andrew Taggart is from Maine; Alex Pall is from New York.

A Glimpse Behind the Scenes

The Facebook video uploaded by The Chainsmokers gives a short glimpse of their music making process. The video consists of several quick cuts showing small portions of the music making process. The video shows the actual music being made and it shows the vocals being laid over the track. In the video it is even revealed that some of the vocals in “Somebody” were originally meant to be used in a different song. The simple process of changing the pitch of the vocals was shown in the video.

In the video The Chainsmokers promised more videos and even an in-depth tutorial on how they make their music.
