End Citizens United is a political action committee that was established on March 1, 2015, after the 2010 decision of Supreme Court. The decision opened doors for investors and corporations with special interests to spend money in the American elections. End Citizens United is funded by grassroots donors from the nation and are dedicated to countering the effects of the Citizens United and to restructure the system of campaign finance. This is after the increment of billionaires following the elections with a buying perspective. It is working forcefully to ensure that the lawmakers take quick and immediate action on the reforms. The mission of End Citizens United is to eliminate the Big Money in politics and reform the political systems that have been rigged by electing champions in campaign finance. They are also committed to passing state ballot rules and national conversation issue. The core mission statements are electing pro-reform candidates, raise money issue as a national priority, collaborate with ballot measure campaigns in passing the pro-reform laws in each of the states, and use the grassroots membership to show forth-political power over the money issue in the politics.
End Citizens United believes in transparency as a tool for power even in politics. They have submitted a filing with the Federal Election Commission this year. The movement is getting ready to grow and make the political arena clean again. They are receiving and appealing for funds from grassroots supporters across the country. In the recent time, End Citizens United has revealed its new campaign titled the Big Money 20 campaign to raise $35 million to defeat the rigged system of voting. The lists include representatives from all over the states. The political action has currently over 3million members. Most of the funding comes from the small dollar and grassroots donors who can give more than $14 million in a year. ECU has already raised around $2million this year for the candidates it is endorsing. The entire aim of this action is to eliminate and end the bad influence of big money in politics and succeed in fixing the political system which is rigged. The board of directors contains top leaders committed to the ECU mission which is to restore the power for the Americans. The headquarters are in Washington, DC. The president of the ECU, Tiffany Muller, promises that the action will do away with the systems of elections and endorsing of candidates with special interests instead of having the interests of the citizens at heart.
Kirsten Gillibrand is running for re-election to represent the people of New York—not the special interests. Tune in LIVE to hear why she’s putting campaign finance reform at the forefront of her campaign:
