Sheldon Lavin: The Man Behind The Meat Industry

Sheldon Lavin is not an unfamiliar name to any person that has heard of the OSI Group, LLC, as he is the current CEO and Chairman to this international phenomenon. He has held these prestigious titles for a multitude of years and has helped the company grow from a simple hamburger provider to an international conglomerate with an employee count of over 20,000 worldwide individuals!

Sheldon Lavin began his business ventures by attending the University of Illinois and Northwestern University and majoring in accounting and finance. Lavin also went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Roosevelt University. After graduation, Lavin began his career with the OSI Group, which was then known as Otto & Sons, Inc. During the past 40 plus years, he has assisted in turning the company into a multibillion dollar food processing business.

After Sheldon Lavin successfully spread the OSI Group and it’s workforce globally, he was given the Global Visionary Award by India‚Äôs Vision World Academy in 2016. Lavin has spent his life committed to the overall welfare of the company and its many employees. Under Sheldon Lavin’s careful watch, the OSI Group has also received numerous other environmental and sustainability awards! Aside from the immense amount of honorable business achievements, Mr. Lavin is also a very charitable citizen.

For over twenty-five years, Sheldon Lavin has been apart of the Ronald McDonald House charity, where he is currently a chairman of the foundation’s capital campaign. Lavin is also the President and Director of The Sheba Foundation, which is a family charitable foundation. Sheldon Lavin not only attends to the business and operations of OSI Group, LLC, but for well over fifteen years, he has also run his own personal financial consulting firm out of Chicago, Illinois.

Sheldon Lavin has lead a successful career life and has assisted in taking OSI Group, LLC, from a small production factory in Aurora, Illinois, to an international force. As CEO for OSI Group, he has maintained a “family-like” quality with the employees and is still leading the company into a bigger and even brighter future of meat production for the world.
